What’s happening this half term at preschool…..

We have had a busy start to the term! Our older children have started Ready Steady School sessions, we really hope they are enjoying them! Wendy, Katy, Jennifer and Julie certainly have, and they have been really impressed with how quickly the children have adapted to the new routine. The children particularly enjoyed making smoothies and sandwiches!

Our younger children are now spending Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings in our bigger playroom with familiar staff, they have all been exploring happily, we are really proud of how they have settled in and taken it in their stride!

This half term we are thinking about being healthy, the children have learnt about healthy foods, and talked about other things we do to be healthy, such as exercising and brushing our teeth!

For the rest of this half-term we will continue learning about being healthy, and we will also learn about different places around the world, this week we are celebrating Chinese New Year, with crafts, dancing and Chinese food!

As part of learning about being healthy we are being active! We are continuing our regular baby ballet sessions on a Monday morning, football sessions on a Monday afternoon and Krazy Kangas Sensory sessions on a Friday morning.

Welcome Helen and Charlotte!

We are pleased to welcome Helen and Charlotte to our staff team! Both Helen and Charlotte bring lots of valuable experience, and have fitted into the team really well, proving popular with the children.

What’s on next half term:

Next term we are thinking about ‘People who help us’, we are arranging lots of visits from emergency services and other professionals. If you or anyone you know works in a profession that could come in to visit the children please let us know, we would like to arrange as many visits as possible ☺. As the weather starts to improve we will be doing lots of activities to do with Gardening and growing, Spring, Mother’s Day and Easter. We are looking for volunteers to help us with gardening,if you can help please let us know.

Fire engine visiting Preschool: Monday 20th February at 10am

We are excited to have some fire officers visit us with their fire engine on Monday 20th February. If your child does not attend on a Monday, but they would like to see the fire officers and the fire engine you are welcome to pop by at 10.30am.

Safe dog educational visit: Friday 24th February at 10am

We are excited to have a dog trainer visit us with her dog to talk to the children about how to stay safe around dogs. We often see dogs when we go for walks in the local area, so her advice will be really helpful.

Mother’s Day Sale donations

We are collecting gifts for our Mother’s Day secret sale in March. If you have any suitable unopened unused toiletries or other gifts we would be very grateful for donations. Please hand donations to the staff member on the door. Thankyou ☺
