We are excited to welcome new staff to preschool this term! Michelle has started this week, she is lovely and bubbly and has many years experience working in early years. Katy will be starting with us in a couple of weeks, she is an experienced teacher and is already part of our preschool community as a mum! We are confident that they will both be fantastic assets to our team and will help to enhance your children’s education.
What’s happening this half term at preschool…..

Parent and Carer visits
This November we would love to welcome parents and carers to visit us and share their interests and skills. We would love parents and carers to share stories, sing a nursery rhyme, play an instrument, teach the children a word or two in a different language, or do some simple cooking with the children. If you can give up just 30 minutes of your time please get in touch.
Children’s Progress Reports
Children’s progress reports will be available to view on your child’s Tapestry account from Friday 4th November. We really value your thoughts so please do sign the reports on tapestry and add any comments you wish. If you would like a paper copy printed please let Emily or Julie in the office know.
Keyworker meetings- Wednesday 9th November
We will be holding keyworker meetings for all children on Wednesday 9th November from 4pm-6pm. This is a great opportunity to hear how your child is progressing at preschool, to ask questions and give us any updates from home. A sheet to book appointments will be outside preschool this week, please sign up. Children may accompany you to meetings, we will have toys available to play with.
Macmillan Coffee morning
We would like thank all parents and carers who contributed to our Macmillan coffee morning, we raised a fantastic £64.47!
Invoices
Please ensure that all invoices for last half term are paid by the end of this week, Friday 4th November, thank you to everyone who has already paid. If you need longer to pay your bill please speak to Emily or Julie. Invoices for this half term will be sent out within the next two weeks.
Wellies and Coats
As the weather is beginning to turn more Autumnal please can your child bring a named coat to every session, and a pair of named wellies or waterproof shoes? (These can stay at playgroup in a carrier bag on their peg, or be brought in each time they are in)
Tuesday 15th November: We have a local author Lisa coming in to read her book ‘The wonderful world of wellies’, please can all children attending on Tuesday 15th November bring a pair of wellies so we can go on a story themed ‘welly walk’.
Children in need ‘Spottacular’ day- Friday 15th November
We are celebrating Children in need on Friday 18th November with a ‘spottacular’ party day. Children are encouraged to wear something spotty in exchange for a donation to children in need (don’t worry if you don’t have anything, we will be making spotty crowns at preschool) we will also be making spotty cakes, spotty decorations and playing spotty party games!
Photo day- Friday 25th November
On Friday 25th November we have a visit from photographer Ian Macmillan. He takes individual and sibling photos with Christmas backdrops that make lovely keepsakes and Christmas presents. If you would like your child to have their photo taken, please sign up at the preschool office. If your child does not usually attend that day you are welcome to bring them in to have their photo taken.
Healthy lunch boxes and water bottles
Thank you to all the parents who have swapped their child’s squash/juice for water and to everyone providing great balanced healthy lunches. Just a reminder to please ensure children have no nuts or nut products in their lunch boxes, as we have children with nut allergies at playgroup. Please ensure your child has water only in their water bottles, they may bring fruit juice, smoothies or milk in their lunchbox. Thank you for your support
